As a J15 Class LNER steam locomotive approaches, excitement erupts when three Mk1 Spitfires from RAF Duxford’s No.19 Squadron soar low overhead. The eldest son points skyward in awe, adding a thrilling twist to their train spotting afternoon.

Leading the formation is the historic Spitfire Mk.1 “N3200,” flown by Squadron Leader Geoffrey Stephenson. This aircraft played a vital role in the Dunkirk evacuation before being damaged and buried on Sangatte beach in May 1940. Recovered in 1986 and restored at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, N3200 triumphantly returned to the skies in 2014.
